What this means in practice

Every state sets its own calendar, its own fee and its own filing route, and none of them warn you before a deadline passes. In South Carolina the reporting cycle is quarterly, so the work repeats four times a year for as long as you distribute there.

If you also sell in other states, none of those dates line up. That is the whole problem Fertilabel exists to solve: one calendar, one place, every form prefilled, every fee calculated, and the official source next to every rule so your own team can check it.

Questions

Do I need to register my fertilizer product in South Carolina?
South Carolina regulates fertilizer at state level — there is no federal fertilizer registry in the United States. The licence and registration requirements above come from the official sources listed at the foot of this page. Confirm your specific product with the agency: what applies depends on the product type and package size.
How often is the South Carolina tonnage report due?
Quarterly · due 30 October and 30 January and 30 April and 30 July · within thirty days following the end of each quarter · period quarters ending 30 September, 31 December, 31 March and 30 June · a county and consignee summary report is also required · (S.C. Code 46-25-810, 46-25-830).
What happens if I file the South Carolina tonnage report late?
10% of the amount due, if the report is not filed and the tax not paid within 15 days after the due date · "a collection fee amounting to ten percent of the amount due must be assessed" · registration: registrations are automatically cancelled 30 days after the due date; no separate late-registration fee published · (S.C. Code 46-25-810).
Does Fertilabel file this for me?
No. We prepare the calendar, the prefilled forms and the fee math, and you submit under your own state account. You stay the registrant of record. We are not a law firm and we do not give legal advice.
