Two states still want paper and a cheque in the post
Ten of the seventeen states we cover have their own portal, each with its own login. Two have none at all. Knowing which is which decides how early you have to start.
The two
Michigan takes its tonnage report on paper by post, or as a spreadsheet by email. There is no portal. And the deadline is defined by postmark: 31 January. Texas still works by mailed forms; the company portal we tried to reach was not accessible.
Why a postmark deadline is different
Every other deadline in this library is satisfied the moment you click submit. A postmark deadline is satisfied when a post office handles the envelope, which means the work has to be finished days earlier, not minutes. Michigan's alert has to fire before everyone else's.

What we do and do not do about it
We prepare the forms and the numbers so that whichever route a state uses, the work is done before you open the portal or the envelope. We do not log into state portals on your behalf and we do not hold your portal credentials. You remain the registrant of record, and the submission is yours.
